Glenna thank you for being one of the first ones to support us. 🥹 And thank you for your kind words. I can't wait for you to "meet" my Dad a bit more. He's going to bring something special next Sunday.
Wow. I can't wait for your dad's response. My parents married when they were 18 and I never got to ask them that question. Yet, I understand now people got married young in the 1950's because that was one of the ways they liberated themselves. At that time there was barely TV and radio and certainly not time nor money for them to travel or surf the web. People had gardens in the yard, found jobs as soon as they could and many families only one person worked. They heard remnants of discussion about the prior great depression and just making it and buying a home( in that time maybe for seven to ten thousands, if that. I've wondered if they lived today and were 18 would they have made that decision now. By the way, I think this substack idea is great. Your dad seems like a cool guy. Thanks for inviting to check out your newsletter. The conversation between "older" peopleand "younger" people in the same medium is what I've been wanting to see. I wish you and your dad and family the best. Also, if your dad will give some historical context of his marriage, I'd love to hear that too.
I love this Substack already. It feels like this was your calling all along. PS: I think you’d be a great dad.
